After the time trial we need to get together and discuss how we are going to try to ride the road race. Analyzing the current SM4 entries I think we can expect a strong ride out of the Echelon Spokes and Slopes riders as they appear to be good climbers based on recent results. I know several of us hope to have strong rides in the TT and will most likely need help from the climbers when the crap hits the fan in the RR. Front riders (if there are any after the breakup) should not work in the lead group if there is a chance that any of our top placed riders could regroup on the descent. Obviously if the lead is moving fast and you are in it you will be expected to pull. Don't, save your energy for the finish. In any case they will pull you to a top placing. These are my thoughts and they may not be echoed by others but we if we can work like we did Sunday then we should have winners in both group races with a few top 10 overalls

The rollers will be tough but if there’s a cross wind or a headwind up on the north side of the course the field could shatter. If it’s windy, as soon as we hit the rollers on the east side, get to the front ASAP and keep all up there, even rotating if we have to. Are we better off rotating in a small group at the very front of the field in a cross wind than being stuck 20 people back in the gutter. Can't be afraid to take pulls at the front in a cross wind, it keeps us out of the gutter.

Coming in to the finish of the RR, keeping it as fast as possible with our sprinter near the front to give him the best chance and keep it safe. It’ll get dangerous if it swarms in the last miles. If we have 3 or 4 guys left at the end I say just rotate as hard as you can at the front going in to the last couple of miles leaving the sprinter protected. Leave at least one guy to completely sell out for our sprinter with 500 meters to go, which I think is jsut before the last stoplight where we turn left to go to the start/finish.

Echoing what Brian said - if any of us are in the lead group and there is a chance getting other teammates to get back in, don't do work.

The wind will be a big factor.
